Vicious Art started
up in 2002. Matti Mäkelä (Guitar) and Robert Lundin
(Drums), who both used to be in Dark Funeral, were joined by
long time friends and fellow-musicians Jocke Widfeldt (Vocals)
(Dominion Caligula, Obscurity Sthlm) and Tobbe Sillman (Guitar)
(Guidance of Sin, The dead). Together they recorded a 4 song
demo.
In early 2004, Jörgen Sandström (ex Entombed, Grave)
joined the band after Matti gave him a demo and told him they needed
a bassplayer. As Matti and Jörgen had talked about starting
a band together before, the timing was just perfect as Jörgen
recently had quit Entombed.
Later that year the band hooked up with Threeman Rec and decided
to record a full length album. "Fire Falls And The Waiting
Waters" was recorded in August 2004 and released shortly thereafter
same year. The record got some really good reviews from both major
magazines and underground internet sites. The band played a few
shows and got good respons from the audiences.
The band and Threeman rec parted ways and a 3 song ep was recorded,
Weed the Wild, and we sold it over the net and at gigs. The ep
finally reached Mighty Music Rec in Denmark, who loved the songs
so much that they decided to sign Vicious Art. The first release
through Mighty Music Rec is through their sub label, Prutten Rec.
The Weed the Wild ep is released as a 7" vinyl ep!
In the summer of 2007 we recorded our second full length album and named it "Pick Up This Sick Child". It will be released November 5th in Scandinavia and early 2008 rest of the world. Rest of the world will probably have a bonus song on the release as they have to wait a bit longer. And this is were we are at the moment. Promoting the new album,
